Wouldn’t it be better to plant trees near where I live?

It’s nice to have trees in your own backyard (and we encourage people to plant more). However, as the CO2 enters the atmosphere, it spreads out and has an impact on the global climate. This means that 1 ton of CO2 emissions emitted in Rhode Island is the same as 1 ton of CO2 being emitted in Dubai and 1 ton of CO2 absorbed by a tree in the US has the same impact as 1 ton of CO2 absorbed by a tree internationally.
